The Fred Knop Family strives to produce industry appropriate club lambs and breeding stock.

Our 2012 lambs will feature the genetics of three Wheaton Hampshire stud rams (Catalyst, Excel and Apex) as well as two Impact Hampshire sires (Pay Day and Impact 083). Additionally, we will feature lambs sired by the Wheaton and Impact rams bred to key ewes selected from the Impact Hampshire flock. Also, many of our 2011 keeper ewe lambs (sired by Impact 920—Money Maker) are bred to Excel and Impact 083 as detailed below. To our knowledge, we are one of the few flocks which will feature the combination of Wheaton genetics melded with the Impact Hampshire gene pool as well as the Duffy/Livewire (Marcantel) genetics back on the Money Makers.
The Stud Rams used for our 2012 lamb crop are as follows:

  • Pay Day (Impact 1023)—Money Maker x Packen Heat/21

  • Catalyst (Wheaton 0-126 ET)—Untouchable x Wheaton 3-093

  • Excel (Wheaton 1-122)—Exile x True Blood/Classic

  • Apex (Wheaton 1-038 ET)—Marcantel 33 x Exile/Classic

  • David (Knop 6470)—Impact 920 (Money Maker) x Impact 546 (half brother/half sister Packen Heat)

  • Sharp 20—Sharp 24 x Sharp/Marx

Of course, as it takes two to tango, we believe our intensively linebred ewes will undoubtedly bring genetic favor to the above rams in a way UNIQUE in club lamb circles as our ewe base is double linebred combining layer upon layer of the famous Crazy Horse Suffolk genetics with the powerful linebred Hampshire genetics of such well-known flocks as Mayer, Marcantel, DeSpain and Houghton.

It is our belief that the proven pedigrees and the phenomenal phenotypes of the above rams promise to accelerate our 2012 lamb crop in a brand new direction with a NEW LOOK and a NEW LEVEL of showring performance!

We are also pleased to announce that we have added two groups of key mature females from the Impact Hampshire flock. The genetics of these females includes such well known sires as Full Impact, 21, Livewire, Houston, Packen Heat, Buckmaster, Johnny 86 Cabaniss, Mission Impossible, Show Box, 6 Bits and Money Maker that have sired many, many champions across the United States. The majority of these females have been bred to Pay Day, Catalyst, Excel and Apex. We invite you to stop by to evaluate the offspring of these ewes. Their lambs should be VERY, VERY EXCITING!

The Fred Knop Family cordially invites you to stop by and view our NEW LOOK lambs towards the end of February when lambing is completed.

Our 2012 offering will include: Ram lambs, yearling rams, club lambs, brood ewes and ewe lambs.

The Fred Knop Family thanks all of our customers over the years for your confidence in our breeding program.

We look forward to your visit this year. Be sure to stop by when you are in our area.

Sincerely,

Fred, Janine and Louise Knop
