Knop 5799  “Overload”

We named this ram lamb Overload in order to best exemplify the sheer power of muscle design and bone work this ram lamb brings to the table in an extremely level-made package appropriately designed in his rib structure and chest floor.  We believe, by virtue of his design and his pedigree, that Overload will sire extremely competitive show lambs for 2010.  When you see Overload in person, he will truly OVERLOAD your sensory perception of what a stud ram should look like.

Overload’s sire is Marx 7007 who is an own son of J.J. Johnson 1135.  Johnson 1135 was sired by the famous Marcantel/Johnson (Ohio) LSU Hampshire ram.  The 2008 San Antonio Grand Champion was sired by 1135.  7007’s mother is a daughter of Marx 9-57 whose pedigree can be found in many of the top show lambs in the country year after year.  Overload’s mother is Knop 228, a daughter of Marx 9-56, the twin brother to 9-57. Also in 228’s pedigree is the well-known ram, PC, the sire of great hip structures as well as Omega who needs no introduction.

We plan to utilize this genetic giant back on our Crazy Horse Suffolk/Mayer Hampshire gene pool.  This mating should make a very predictable set of crossbred show lambs that will win in the show ring combining muscle and look into a pleasing package.

Be sure to stop by in the spring of 2010 to evaluate the offspring of Overload.  We believe your time will be well spent.
