WELCOME
It is a distinct pleasure for the Fred Knop Family to introduce the stud rams used to sire our 2012 lamb crop. We invite you to study the genetic makeup of each of these rams. Also please note the award-winning acceptance of the genetics these rams bring to our 2012 offering.
We traveled many miles to search out the genetic programs we felt we could believe in and that would produce predictable, winning lambs in the show ring as well as maintaining acceptable production capabilities reproductively speaking. The following sires are the cumulation of our search.
Also, of special note, we will lamb two dozen plus key ewes purchased from Impact Hampshires that we bred to our 2012 stud rams. These ewes have produced stud rams, winning show lambs and replacement females for the Impact Hampshire flock. The genetics of these ewes include the following well-known sires: Full Impact, Money Maker, Livewire, Houston, Packen Heat, Buck Master, Johnny 86 Cabaniss, Primetime, Armani, and Showbox. These ewes have been confirmed bred to Pay Day, Catalyst, Apex, Excel, and David. You are invited to “be the judge”!
Additionally, on the ewe lamb sire of the equation, all but 3 of 23 ewe lambs are confirmed pregnant in a 16 day breeding cycle. The majority of these ewe lambs are bred to the Young Jock/Livewire ram lamb featured below as well as Pay Day and Excel. About half of the ewe lambs are sired by our Impact 920 Money Maker son. The balance are sired by Sharp 20 and Sharp 24 as well as Pay Day. This should be an extremely exciting set of February lambs to evaluate.
We plan to offer our lambs segmented by age in three distinct groups: private treaty, our 2nd online sale, and the young lambs. We will offer ram lambs, yearling rams, mature ewes, ewe lambs and show lambs.
Watch our website this spring for blog updates and possible sale participation. We may include a consignment to Sedalia.
Sincerely,
The Fred Knop Family
Pay Day - Impact 1023

Money Maker x Packen Heat
We are very fortunate to own a ram like Pay Day. All who have viewed Pay Day agree to his complete skeletal and muscle composition. Not often does such a combination of genetics and phenotype come together! We expect approximately 30 Pay Day sired lambs in 2012!
Pay Day’s sire, Money Maker, has exhibited the unique ability to sire consistent champions in the show ring in all parts of the country. The maternal side of Pay Day’s pedigree predicts excitement! Impact Hampshires have retained a number of ewes in their flock of this lineage. Brian Reilly reports that Pay Day’s twin sister is “awesome”! It will be worth your time to analyze the offspring of Pay Day in 2012.
Catalyst - Wheaton 0-126 ET
Untouchable x Wheaton 3-093

Catalyst saw significant service in our flock for 2012. Like Pay Day, Catalyst serviced several key Impact Hampshire females (that we purchased from Impact) as well as many of our own linebred ewes. We appreciate his tremendous balance of design, his awesome bone and structural correctness. Catalyst also exhibits an extra dose of horizontal dimension to his muscle design and rump.
Catalyst’s pedigree combining Untouchable (Miller) with the great flush female Wheaton 3-093 (Cabaniss Stroker) should predict a very interesting set of Catalyst lambs in 2012. Untouchable has sired numerous champion show lambs the most recent being the Grand Champion market lamb at the American Royal in 2011.
Excel - Wheaton 1-122
Exile x True Blood/Classic

One word always come to mind as we have viewed the development of Excel. That word is—impeccable—meaning “free of fault”. Excel is just a natural in his structure and carriage. His hip structure is as perfect as one can make. His rib is right. He is long in the correct places and balanced in his overall phenotype. Take a look at his pedigree—sired by Exile (enough said). His mother is Wheaton 80, a ewe lamb sired by True Blood. Of course, True Blood was sired by Marcantel 33. Wheaton 80’s mother is a Classic daughter out of the fabulous Wheaton flush female—Wheaton 3-093, the mother of our Untouchable son—Catalyst. Excel is bred to do just that—Excel!!! The Reserve Grand Champion market lamb at the American Royal, 2011 was sired by True Blood out of an Exile daughter.
Apex - Wheaton 1-038 ET
Marcantel 33 x Exile/Classic

Owned with Wheaton Hampshires
Apex brings lots of “good” to the table. Phenotypically he measures long, he is level made, his rib is right, his chest floor/rear flank dimension meets expectations and most importantly, his pedigree includes some of the very best club lamb genetics available in the industry. Brant Wheaton stated that Wheaton 1-038 was perhaps the mating of the year for 2011. Combining the best of the Marcantel genetic world with Exile and Classic makes perfect sense.
Apex’s mother, Wheaton 9-081, is the flush sister to the well known Wheaton sires Epic, Wheaton 9077 and Wheaton 9082. His mother is also the maternal sister to the Wheaton rams named Crockett and Napoleon. Something truly special occurs when the Exile and Classic gene pools are combined (both Miller rams). Apex’s maternal grandmother, the great flush female Wheaton 7-021, is bred this way. One of Apex’s flush-mate wether brothers sold at Wheaton’s spring sale for $4700 and another flush-mate ram lamb brother sold for $8000.
Apex’s sire, Marcantel 33, is the sire of True Blood who was used by both Marcantels and Wheatons. There is no doubt that the Marcantel gene pool has significantly impacted the club lamb industry. In our opinion, Apex resembles his sire as a young ram lamb. We believe you will enjoy the 2012 offspring of Apex. We are amazed at the amount of muscle and shear power Apex has added just since breeding season. We will try to post a more current photo soon.
Impact 083
Young Jock (Duffy 60) x Livewire (Marcantel 21=Marcantel 43/Marcantel 78)

It is truly a privilege to use a ram lamb such as Impact 083. Impact 083 saw service at Impact Hamps as well as in our flock for 2012 lambs. His genetic make-up predicts “can’t miss” offspring! We really appreciate his rib design, his flawless front, his structural correctness and real bone! 083 travels in a true fashion with style to burn. His hip shape and muscle definition as just as nice as one can make it. And talk about “shag”—he’s got it! Brian Reilly states that “it is very hard to shoot a hole” in 083. We concur and can’t wait to view his offspring. Many of our Impact 920 daughters (our Money Maker son used for 2011 lambs) saw service to this Young Jock son. The Grand Champion market lamb at the 2011 New Mexico State fair was sired by Young Jock’s twin brother.
David - Knop 6470
Impact 920 (Money Maker) x Impact 546
NNRR
David was one of the most critically viewed ram lambs of our 2011 prospects. All who saw him proclaimed his combination of shear power and parallel design. David also exhibits a special fluidness of movement with a purposeful stride. David’s photo exhibits his “steer-like” phenotype with lots of bone and shag. His photo basically says it all. As you might expect, based on his genetics, David just keeps getting better and better.
David is impeccably bred being sired by Impact 920, the Money Maker/Armani ram we own with RSO and Rand Whitney. David’s mother (Impact 546) was purchased from Impact Hampshires as one of our top selections. Brian Reilly calls Impact 546 a “Superstar”. 546 is a half brother/half sister mating of a Packin’ Heat on Packin’ Heat. What a pedigree! 546 is the mother of the well-known Impact ram named Show Boat.
Sharp 20
Sharp 20
Sharp 24 x Mayer Hampshire/Crazy Horse/PC
NNRR
Sharp 20 is a very balanced, big topped, massive-loined ram with lots of real bone. We used him for the 2011 lamb crop and retained a number of his daughters. Sharp 20 absolutely stamps his daughters with consistency. We also used Sharp 20 for 2012 lambs.
Sharp 20’s full brother was exhibited at the Ohio State Fair where he placed Reserve Champion Hampshire wether in the Jr. Show, was 4th overall and Grand Champion carcass. Most of the keeper Sharp 20 daughters have been bred to Impact 083 and Excel—should be very exciting!
